Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience
Preferred QualificationsB.S. in wildlife ecology or a closely related field is required, along with at least 1 year of professional experience or a M.S. in wildlife research or management.
Position SummaryAssist with evaluating innovative wild pig management strategies and University of Georgia’s Savannah River Ecology Laboratory (SREL) research efforts, including:
1) the development and field testing of lures to improve wild pig trapping efficiency,
2) the evaluation of Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) thermal technology to improve the efficacy and efficiency of aerial removal operations,
3) estimation of wild pig populations using remote cameras, and
4) attaching GPS collars to elucidate the movement ecology of wild pigs. Opportunities also may exist to assist with
research evaluating the spatial ecology and population dynamics of white-tailed deer. Primary duties will include collecting and processing data evaluating performance of wild pig attractants, operating remote camera arrays, assisting with data collection and logistical coordination for FLIR-guided aerial…
