Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a College & University or other High‑Volume Food Service setting.
- Serv Safe Food Protection Manager Certificate.
- Familiarity with labor relations.
Position Summary:
This Dining Services Management position is an administrative and supervisory position. This employee plans, organizes, and directs a diversified staff of dining service personnel in the day shift operation of a high‑volume dining commons and kitchen. Will plan work programs, staff for operation, requisition and purchase food supplies, and train employees in food service and preparation. This class differs from a Dining Commons Manager II in that a Dining Commons Manager I is responsible for the supervision of fewer employees and/or a dining service unit serving a smaller volume of meals.
Direction is received from an administrative superior on matters pertaining to special menus and operating policies. Work is evaluated through observation and in terms of customer reaction.
