Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and 8 years of professional experience.

The General Manager of Restaurants oversees all aspects of service for the Savannah Room Restaurant, the Bulldog Bistro, and beverage services at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel. Responsibilities include managing a team of supervisors and managers, staff supervision across full-time, temporary, and student staff, ensuring service excellence, product quality, and operational efficiency. The role includes staff training, scheduling, inventory control, and health and safety compliance.

Working with Food & Beverage leadership, the role develops service standards, drives innovation, and supports financial oversight of outlets operations.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and 8 years of professional experience.
• Demonstrated success in managing restaurant operations.
• Expertise in delivering exceptional guest experiences and resolving customer concerns.
• Extensive food, beverage, and wine knowledge.
• Budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and ability to analyze profit and loss statements to drive financial performance.
• Proficiency with restaurant management systems (POS, inventory, scheduling) and general computer applications.
• Ability to streamline workflows, optimize labor, and improve service delivery across multiple outlets.
• Strong leadership and team development skills.
• Data-informed decision making and adaptability to changing circumstances.
• Problem-solving skills and root-cause analysis.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Collaborative leadership style with accountability and respect for staff.
• Ability to operate in fast-paced environments and respond to challenges.
