Senior Key Account Manager – Strategic Partnership TeamAvocado is looking for a Senior Key Account Manager to be part of the Strategic Partnership Team. This senior leadership role will maintain, sell, and grow our large Southwest retail partners and spearhead the cultivation of high‑impact strategic relationships across key retail accounts.
Responsibilities- Lead the cultivation of high‑impact strategic relationships and drive macro‑level growth across key retail accounts.
- Architect and deliver enablement frameworks—including tools, training, and resources—to maximize partner success.
- Utilize Hub Spot CRM and advanced analytics to own account intelligence, track performance metrics, and oversee long‑term initiative planning.
- Conduct strategic travel for high‑level partner site visits, represent the company at major industry trade shows, and align with executive leadership at corporate meetings.
- Service East Coast key partners by building and growing relationships within the organization.
- Oversee a team of account trainers and key account managers in the SE region.
- Visit offices and buyers to build rapport, relationships, and business.
- Perform store visits and work with Market Trainers to drive sales, training (large roll‑out meetings, sales meetings, etc.), and growth of AGB in each partner.
- Coach and mentor Market Trainers.
- Help open new strategic accounts on the East Coast.
- Work with the Retail Development Team on displays, POP options, delivery and set‑up.
- Act as liaison between AGB and assigned accounts.
- Manage timelines, oversee execution, and follow‑up once an account is onboarded.
- Handle day‑to‑day account management, including status reports, delivery service help, issue resolution, and connecting appropriate people and departments to grow.
- Create, submit, and follow up with tasks associated with assigned accounts.
- Spend time in East Coast flagship Avocado stores building relationships and staying in tune with our approach to doing business.
- Maintain sales, profit, expenses, marketing, and merchandising functions for the assigned partner.
- Lead the customer account planning cycle and develop strategic short- and long‑run plans to achieve predetermined sales goals.
- Ensure customer-specific programs, guidelines, and policies are communicated and followed.
- Regularly evaluate partner’s sales performance and develop strategies to sustain successes and improve deficiencies.
- Keep management updated about partners’ strategic plans and goal progression.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support AGB’s larger visions.
- At least 5 years of sales experience with a demonstrated record of creating, maintaining, and growing outstanding client relationships.
- Experience leading and managing a team of brand representatives.
- Mattress and bedding experience is a huge plus, along with industry relationships, especially on the East Coast.
- Strong research, writing, editing, and client interaction skills.
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Organized, self‑motivated, with a proactive approach to managing and executing projects.
- Ability to use independent judgment, analyze information, and formulate recommendations to solve problems.
- A passion for the foundations and core beliefs in Avocado as the leader in certified organic and sustainable products.
Stationary position:
Must be able to remain stationary 50% of the time.
Move:
This role involves moving throughout the office to meet with different team members, as well as around retail spaces and other offices.
Operate:
Constantly operates a computer and other office machines such as printers and tablets.
Communicate:
This role frequently communicates with other team members to update on the status of a task.
Travel:
This role involves traveling to different locations.
