This is skilled technical work involving operating, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing building electrical systems and components, including electrical components in other building systems (HVAC, communications, security, plumbing, lighting, etc.) due to new construction or renovations.
Key Responsibilities- Repair or replace building electrical system components.
- Troubleshoot problems with building electrical systems and related components.
- Install components and associated wiring to building electrical system to expand capability of existing system or for building renovations.
- Prepare work related documents (work orders, vouchers, reports, purchase requests, etc.) and interact with customers via phone and in person to coordinate work.
- Other duties assigned by supervisor.
High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits.
- Ability to understand electric circuit diagrams, blueprints, and equipment manuals and use same to troubleshoot system problems, make repairs, and install new components.
- Ability to use electric diagnostic test equipment and tools of the electrical trade.
- Ability to understand and apply standard trade practices in performing work.
- Standard requirements of the trade: walking, standing, climbing stairs, stooping, crawling, working with hands above head, working from a standard and/or extended ladder and scaffold, lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Most work is performed inside a building.
- Driving is a responsibility of this position.
- Position of Trust.
- Does not have operation, access, or control of financial resources.
- Does not require a P‑Card.
- Does not involve direct interaction or care of children under 18, or direct patient care.
- Has Security Access.
