Master Mechanic

Shift Schedule

Monday‑Wednesday: 7:30 am–4:00 pm
Saturday‑Sunday: 3:00 pm–11:30 pm

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or associate degree in HVAC/R or a related field preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a maintenance field required.

• Basic knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry).
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
• Strong customer service skills when interacting with hospital staff.
• Ability to lift and move equipment up to typical maintenance standards.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts including weekends or on‑call as needed.

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on building systems, equipment, and fixtures (lighting, doors, plumbing, HVAC filters, etc.).
• Respond to basic maintenance requests from clinical and non‑clinical departments in a timely manner.
• Assist senior mechanics with more complex repairs involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and medical support systems.
• Conduct minor repairs such as replacing light bulbs, repairing wall fixtures, tightening hardware, and patching small surfaces.
• Inspect equipment and facilities to identify potential safety hazards or maintenance needs.
• Document all work performed in the hospital’s maintenance management system.
• Follow hospital safety protocols, including infection control, PPE use, and regulatory compliance.
• Support emergency response efforts such as power outages, equipment failures, or facility incidents.
• Maintain tools and work areas in clean, safe, and organized conditions.
