Responsibilities
- Alignment to Clark Standards of Excellence:
Self‑Motivated, Results Oriented, Adaptable, Team Player, Accountable, Ethical, Innovative, Resilient, Builds Relationships - Selects type and size of pipe and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, and valves, according to job specifications
- Assists foreman in planning the sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other workers
- Cuts pipe using a pipe cutter, pipe saw, power tools (band saw), and pipe cutting machine
- Threads pipe using threading machine
- Operates Victaulic roll grooving and cut groove equipment safely
- Mounts pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceilings to hold pipe
- Assembles and installs a variety of metal or non‑metal pipes and pipe fittings, using threaded, wrapped, soldering, brazen, fused, or cemented joints, and hand tools
- Secures pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools
- Conducts safe and professional testing of piping systems for leaks by increasing pressure and observing gauges
- Observes and complies with all safety and project rules and company policies and procedures
- Has working knowledge of operating around heavy machinery, including hydraulic and lattice cranes
- Rigs and signals loads as required
- Sets and aligns process equipment such as pumps and blowers
- Conducts field layout of the piping system and calculates offsets, miters, and fittings as required
- Performs other duties as required
- Attentive to detail and alert to ensure safety
- Able to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co‑workers
- Skilled at reading labels, safety warnings, and guidelines
- Proficient at reading drawings, including pipe shop drawings, mechanical drawings, and P&’s
- Excellent physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy objects
- Good communication skills
- Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis
- Must be able to work safely around heavy equipment and construction traffic
- Frequently lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds alone, using team‑lifting techniques for heavier loads
- Long periods of standing or walking, including bending, climbing, kneeling, and reaching
- Good balance and dexterity, essential for work at various heights and tight spaces
- Requires visual acuity to operate equipment and spot hazards
- Hearing sufficient to understand instructions in noisy environments
Work is performed outdoors and may expose employees to heat, cold, rain, snow, or wind. The environment frequently involves moving mechanical equipment, high noise levels, dust, fumes, airborne particles, vibrations, and potential electrical hazards. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn consistently, and all safety policies and applicable laws must be followed.
