Overview
Under general supervision, the Service Technician II repairs, services, and builds standard and custom systems for hydraulic, fluid power, electrical, and mechanical systems. The Service Technician II may provide guidance to less experienced Service Technicians.
Responsibilities- Perform maintenance on assigned customer products that come through the service shop.
- Disassemble, clean, and inspect system components for repair.
- Diagnose system components and recommend a solution to the customer.
- Prepare job forms listing parts and work necessary to perform the repair.
- Design, fabricate, machine, and weld parts and components.
- Repair hydraulic, fluid power, electrical, and mechanical systems and other related items.
- Assemble new and repaired equipment.
- Test repaired equipment for performance and prepare for shipment or long‑term storage.
- Assist customers by answering specific technical questions to help the customer understand the work to be done.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding products, provide quotes, and handle order entry. Due to experience & training, may handle more challenging inquiries.
- Build customer relationships to drive repeat business by relating to the customer and driving process improvements.
- Assist less experienced Service Technicians with addressing customer needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Typically requires a high school diploma or GED and three (3) to five (5) years of shop experience or an equivalent combination.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities- Ability to read hydraulic schematics.
- Strong communication skills.
- Basic mechanical knowledge.
- Ability to operate shop equipment safely.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment with minimal supervision.
Push/pull up to 100 pounds; lift/carry up to 100 pounds; lift bulky objects; neck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching, reach and lift, ladder climb and carry, crawling. Working conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor. Noise level may be loud lity to work overtime and weekends.
Licenses & CertificationsValid Driver's License.
