Position SummaryInstalls, maintains, and troubleshoots a variety of electrical equipment and systems. Also conducts preventive and general maintenance.
Responsibilities- Serve as primary electrician for Savannah River Ecology Lab maintenance department.
- Work with general maintenance mechanics completing preventive maintenance requirements as needed.
- Collaborate with contractors (HVAC, electrical, construction) to facilitate their work and interface with Savannah River Site contractors.
- Ensure all work adheres to Savannah River Site DOE/NNSA standards.
- Make urgent or unplanned supplies purchases for repairs.
- High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of related experience.
- Experience with electrical systems up to 480 volts and ability to provide general maintenance, construction, and HVAC support.
- Strong communication skills: clear speaking, writing, active listening, and conveying information effectively.
- Ability to work with electricity and assist with facility renovation and construction.
- Eligibility for driving and must be able to drive as required.
- Must hold a valid P-Card; credit check required.
- Background investigation required. Pre-employment drug test may be required.
Lift up to 50 lbs and work outside in various climate conditions.
Additional InformationPosition is non‑exempt and requires working Monday through Friday, 8:00‑5:00. The role is considered a position of trust and has security access. The University of Georgia is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
