Maintenance Technician
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving mechanical and control issues in production machinery using diagrams, sketches, manuals, and manufacturer specifications. You will be tasked with tearing down, rebuilding, and adjusting machinery and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance. Facility maintenance tasks such as welding, plumbing, painting, and carpentry will also be part of your responsibilities.
You will maintain facility systems such as lighting, HVAC, and structural components, conduct preventive maintenance and lubrication on production equipment, and keep detailed repair and maintenance logs while tracking downtime for each machine. Additionally, you will instruct production teams on proper preventive maintenance procedures and ensure the proper use, care, and organization of all tools and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and control issues in production machinery.
- Tear down, rebuild, and adjust machinery and mechanical equipment for optimal performance.
- Perform facility maintenance tasks including welding, plumbing, painting, and carpentry.
- Maintain facility systems such as lighting, HVAC, and structural components.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, lubrication, and documentation for production equipment.
- Keep detailed repair and maintenance logs and track downtime for each machine.
- Instruct production teams on proper preventive maintenance procedures.
- Ensure proper use, care, and organization of all tools and equipment.
Essential Skills
- Basic knowledge of electrical theory.
- Strong electrical skills.
- Experienced in reading ladder logic and relay logic.
- Proficiency in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting motors, drives, relays, sensors, and solenoids.
- Basic PLC troubleshooting knowledge.
- Preventive Maintenance (PM) expertise.
- Ability to wire up a 3 phase motor and start-stop switch.
- Understanding of hydraulics, photo eyes, conveyors, sensors, and pneumatics.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Excel and Outlook.

Work Environment
The work environment is industrial and hot, not climate-controlled. The shift is from Wednesday to Saturday, 10 PM to 8 AM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Athens, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.34 - $32.34/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
