Legal & Community Advocate – Clarke

Overview

Project Safe is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Legal & Community Advocate to support survivors of domestic violence through direct advocacy, safety planning, court accompaniment, crisis intervention, and referrals to community resources.

In addition to providing direct survivor services, this position plays a key role in building collaborative relationships with law enforcement, courts, attorneys, and other community partners to improve coordinated responses to domestic violence and ensure survivors have access to the support they need.

The description below reflects typical duties for this role (responsibilities may be adjusted as needed to best support survivors):

• Provide direct advocacy, safety planning, and crisis intervention for survivors of domestic violence.
• Assist survivors with court accompaniment and navigating legal processes.
• Develop safety plans and referrals to community resources and supports.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with law enforcement, courts, attorneys, and community partners.
• Contribute to program development and continuous improvement of coordinated responses to domestic violence.

• Experience working with survivors of domestic violence is preferred.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Commitment to trauma-informed, survivor-centered advocacy.
• Background in social work, victim services, or a related field is preferred.

Salary: $46,000–$52,000 annually, based on experience
