Salary: $18,110, commensurate with experience
Position OverviewThis position conducts 5th‑8th grade 4‑H educational program in‑classroom meetings, 9th‑12th grade meetings, and a monthly senior 4‑H meeting. It also assists 4‑Hers with project achievement and is responsible for weekend events and community service projects. The role is fast‑paced with weekly and monthly variations; indoor and outdoor activities are expected.
Responsibilities- Conduct in‑school club meetings and deliver curriculum that meets state (Georgia Professional Standards) guidelines.
- Plan and coordinate programs with staff members.
- Assist 4‑Hers in preparation for 4‑H competitive events, project achievement, and judging teams.
- Transport or arrange transportation of 4‑Hers to district and state‑level events; provide leadership while attending.
- Incorporate program evaluation results and feedback into future planning.
- Develop school break activities for all youth ages.
- Coordinate event details, budget, and travel, and communicate with staff about activities.
- Use local mass media and county website to publicize 4‑H events and accomplishments.
- Prepare and submit accurate, complete reports to Georgia Counts, 4‑H enrollment, and county/district/state offices.
- Identify, recruit, train, involve, and recognize volunteers; assist volunteers with 4‑H Chaperone Training.
- Recruit 9‑ to 18‑year‑old students to become involved in 4‑H educational programs.
- Pack and move boxes; handle equipment; load and unload vehicles; garden work; set up rooms for program delivery.
- Travel to extension events and provide transportation using county vehicles.
- Sit at a desk or stand in a classroom for extended periods.
- Driving, walking, running, bending, stooping, stairs, uneven ground.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in typing, filing, Windows and Microsoft Office, social media, and smartphone use.
- Strong organizational, soft, and office practices skills.
- Independent judgment and discretion with confidential information.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Critical thinking, initiative, mastery of content, time management, and attention to detail.
