About this Position

Developer is responsible for designing, modifying, and developing systems using advanced techniques, including the ability to analyze current systems to resolve new and/or existing problems. Requires in‑depth knowledge and experience in frontend system development. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may lead or direct the work of other developers/projects. Stays current on new and emerging technology. Works independently and receives minimal guidance.

Responsibilities

Technical Duties
  • Code, unit test, and debug programs ensuring optimal performance using advanced programming techniques.
  • Write technical specifications and create thorough unit test plans for each new functionality, application, and/or conversion from one application system to the next.
  • Perform thorough unit testing for new functionality, applications, conversions, etc., through full regression validation.
  • Utilize appropriate software tools for source code management, code creation, compilation, and program execution.
  • Document new systems as well as changes to existing systems according to established standards; develop flow charts, logic charts, record formats, and coding structures using architecture‑approved tools.
  • Review business test plans and results to ensure effectiveness in meeting project requirements.
  • Direct training of business personnel in new and modified systems.
  • Provide on‑call support for production and lower environments.
  • Provide training by working with and mentoring other developers and/or contractors.
  • Experience in full PRPC implementation cycle including enterprise Class Structure design and Rulesets design.
Analysis and Investigative Responsibilities
  • Perform background analysis through research, interviews/meetings with business areas to define needs, understand desired results, and resolve problems.
  • Meet independently with business partners and management to determine systems solutions and evaluate technical feasibility.
  • Analyze detailed system factors, including input and output requirements, information flow, hardware and software requirements, and alternative methods of problem resolution to ensure optimal performance.
  • Apply advanced analysis skills and business knowledge to solve complex business problems.
  • Utilize appropriate approved tools to design solutions.
  • Stay abreast of advanced technology within areas of expertise.
  • Collaborate with others to formulate optimal solutions.
Project Delivery Responsibilities
  • Participate and lead system creation, planning, and coordination with other IT teams and resources.
  • Create and/or update system documentation as appropriate based on project assignment.
  • Develop project proposals (including estimates) and present to stakeholders for review and approval.
  • Discuss and document how proposed changes to the system will affect business process or other relevant systems.
  • Enforce and adhere to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Technology Management Policy.
  • Adhere to the Change Management Technology Management Policy.
Project Leadership
  • Manage more complex projects to completion including project design and proposals.
  • Maintain positive business/peer interactions.
Compliance
  • Protect the company’s authority to do business by complying with legal and ethical standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Follow all applicable Information Technology Management Policies.
  • Ensure new development tools, methods or frameworks provide for secure coding techniques.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Provide training, guidance or mentoring to team members; no formal supervisory responsibilities.
Education, Experience & Certificates
  • Technical, trade or business school or equivalent experience in computer science, computer engineering or related field.
  • 4–5 years’ experience participated in several major system projects and has shown proficiency in several development disciplines/platforms.
  • Problem‑solving skills, analysis and design skills; coding, testing and debugging systems.
  • Self‑motivated with outstanding organizational, verbal, and written communication skills and the ability to work well with peers and management.
