We’re seeking someone to join our team as an experienced Full Stack Developer who will liaise with the business and various stakeholders in all phases of development for critical Workforce Technology and Services (WTS) platforms and key projects.

Workforce Technology and Services (WTS) provides technology solutions that improve personal productivity, collaboration, and connectivity to people and information across Morgan Stanley.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will act as a liaison between business clients and business analysis, development teams, and technology management. In this role you will work with stakeholders to analyze requirements, participate in agile development teams through the SDLC, and assist Project managers and Business Analysis in project delivery. The ideal candidate should be self‑driven, dedicated, and able to work well in a global team while thinking and acting strategically.

What

you’ll do in the role
  • Work as a liaison between the business and development team in all phases of development from solution definition to deployment.
  • Translate high‑level business requirements into detailed functional, technical and system specifications.
  • Develop, maintain and support multiple distributed applications.
  • Contribute to 24/7 availability and scalability of the solutions.
  • Analyze existing designs and interfaces and create design extensions or enhancements.
  • Design and enhance UIs with a focus on the user experience.
  • Test software designs and solutions, including debugging and troubleshooting.
  • Promote the firm’s values and set an example for team members in upholding those values.
What you’ll bring to the role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field required.
  • 3+ years of experience using Angular. Strong Angular experience is needed for the role.
  • 10+ years of experience preferable as a Java Developer with strong analytical and programming skills.
  • Relevant experience with business requirements, structured analysis, process design, UML, and use case definition.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies, TDD, BDD and continuous integration.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Capable of collaborating effectively across a variety of Technology and Business groups.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, excellent understanding of object‑oriented design, design patterns, unit testing, multi‑threading, and microservices.
  • HTML5 technologies, Type Script, JavaScript, JSON, CSS, Angular or React.
  • Git, Runway, Jenkins.
  • Java 17 and higher, Web API, DB:
    PostgreSQL or Sybase, DB2, MongoDB.
