Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

Full-time working experience with a Division I intercollegiate equipment program, specifically football.

Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Football Equipment oversees the comprehensive management, safety, and operational readiness of all football equipment and apparel. This role ensures compliance with governing body regulations (NCAA and SEC), supports athlete performance and safety, manages significant inventory assets, and coordinates logistics for practices, games, and team travel.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
  • Experience in athletics equipment management, preferably at the NCAA Division 1-A level.
  • Ability to work effectively with coaches, administrators, student‑athletes, and vendors.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only a limited standardization exists.
Physical Demands
  • The employee will regularly stand, walk, use hands, reach with arms, and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • The noise level during practice and sporting events can reach a high decibel level.
  • Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, and peripheral vision.
  • Driving as needed to perform job duties.
