Warehouse Assistant

Job Summary

Perform manual duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing and delivering a variety of materials, equipment, and supplies.

• Assist in facilitating the safe packing, removal and transport of furniture, supplies and equipment throughout the residence communities.
• Help in the efficient taking of accurate physical inventories.
• Receive supplies verifying quantities and/or noting any shortages or damage.
• Safely operate material handling equipment including but not limited to pallet jacks, trucks, or dollies.
• Other duties consistent with the purpose and scope of this position as may be assigned.
• Drive university vehicles when necessary to perform job tasks.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills to include proficiency with email correspondence.
• Sufficient verbal communication skills needed to exchange effectively with supervisors, staff and residents.

• Lift and carry over 50 pounds, both assisted and unassisted.
• Work overhead holding tools weighing up to 10 pounds.
• Visual and spatial acuity to move large objects through narrow hallways in a safe manner.
• Safely operate a UGA state vehicle as necessary.
