Salary Range: $26.00 To $29.00 Hourly
Job PurposeThe CDL Driver shall operate in the functions of transporting material in accordance with DOT regulations as well as plant policies and procedures. He/she will ensure a safe and compliant operation during his/her shift.
Duties & Responsibilities- Inspect vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
- Load and unload trucks, or help others with loading and unloading, operating any special loading-related equipment on vehicles and using other equipment as necessary.
- Operate trucks with capacities greater than 3 tons, including tractor‑trailer combinations, to transport and deliver products.
- Inspect condition of trailers after contents have been unloaded to ensure that there has been no damage.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oil, fuel, or coolant, or performing minor repairs.
- Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
- Secure cargo for transport using adequate dunnage and strapping.
- Operating vehicles, mechanized devices or equipment - running, maneuvering, navigating or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment.
- Employee must report to Yard Supervisor for briefing on daily tasks.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- Must have a class A CDL.
- 1 year minimum.
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery.
- Knowledge of the DOT requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Employee must be able to work with a flexible schedule which may require over‑time.
- Understands all applicable location safety rules and regulations and makes sure that all are being followed.
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted on site.
The ability to lift 25/50 pounds regularly.
The ability to respond quickly to sounds.
The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
The ability to safely climb ladders while carrying 40 pounds.
The ability to work in loud, hot environments/extreme weather while wearing required PPE.
Ability to see 20-20 when corrected.
Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
