Transport passengers with registered disabilities in an accessible van to and from various campus locations in accordance with applicable laws and department procedures. Assist passengers entering and exiting the vehicle as necessary. Inspect the vehicle before, during, and after the shift to ensure proper operating condition. Complete necessary paperwork, including time sheets and vehicle condition reports. Operate other vehicle equipment such as electronic AVL equipment and wheelchair ramps.
Applicants must submit to drug and alcohol testing by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
- Safely operate ADA vans, maintain schedule, and complete paperwork (95%)
- Occasional non‑driving duties such as vehicle washing and attending safety meetings (5%)
- Assist passengers entering and exiting the vehicle, inspect the vehicle before, during, and after the shift, complete required documentation, operate equipment, and comply with drug and alcohol testing requirements.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with people of various backgrounds, including those with physical, emotional, and developmental disabilities.
- Ability to use a tablet, handheld radio, and learn to operate company software.
Sitting for long periods, lifting up to 15 pounds, and assisting in securing a wheelchair with restraints.
Additional InformationTemporary service/maintenance position. Non‑Exempt. Full‑time equivalent: 0.49. Hours and schedule may vary and include weekends. Driving is a requirement. No direct interaction with children under 18 or direct patient care. No access to financial resources or need for a P‑Card.
