Intermittent Transit Driver – Non-CDL - Daytime
Position opening for intermittent transit driver (Daytime). Scheduling as needed up to 1,000 hours per rolling year. No guaranteed hours or benefits associated with intermittent status.
Responsibilities- Transport students, faculty/staff, visitors per university transportation schedule.
- Operate various vehicle types: 14‑passenger shuttle buses, passenger vans, sedans.
- Provide superior customer service and safe, efficient transport, adhering to all university, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Assist with luggage loading as needed and perform routine vehicle inspection, detailing, and cleaning activities.
- Maintain proper transportation documentation to ensure compliance with safety and operating standards.
- Work with scheduling software and adapt to new technologies.
- Respond to changing traffic and emergency situations, monitor traffic conditions, pedestrians, passenger communications, and vehicle warning signals.
- Valid Ohio Class D driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior professional driving experience.
- Experience working with the public.
- Ability to sit for extended periods, safely operate vehicle controls, and communicate with passengers and dispatch personnel.
- Must pass background checks and drug/alcohol screenings.
- Willingness to learn and use scheduling software.
Pay range: $11.60 – $17.40 per hour; target range $11.60 – $14.50 per hour, commensurate with education and experience.
One‑time Retention Bonus Opportunity of $750 available at time of hire.
