Student Content Assistant
Student Affairs provides high-quality, consistent, and timely communications to students and parents at Ohio University. The Student Content Assistant will support content creation for the Division’s newsletter,
Keeping Bobcats Informed
, and other division-wide communications. Responsibilities include drafting copy for the biweekly email, adapting content for multiple platforms, writing student affairs articles for Ohio News, editing text on Student Affairs websites, and gathering and resizing images for newsletter content. Key content areas are programs, events, jobs, student life stories, and features on student organizations.
The preferred candidate should have experience with email marketing, journalism, and copywriting; should feel connected to campus life and demonstrate a passion for Ohio University. They will be self‑motivated, creative, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, working within the university’s established brand guidelines.

10 hours per week. Pay is $12.35 per hour. Position begins in August 2026. Eligible candidates must be available to work a minimum of two semesters.
Job Profile- Write and edit communications and news stories.
- Manage social media content.
- Update websites and multimedia content.
- Design promotional materials.
- Support marketing campaigns.
- Assist with event communications.
- Enrolled in classes at Ohio University, Hocking College, another post‑secondary education institution, or a secondary school during the current semester, immediate previous semester, or the upcoming semester.
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks within deadlines.
- Basic knowledge of office software and communication tools.
- Experience with project management software.
- Experience editing websites.
- Experience with email marketing platforms such as Emma or Mailchimp.
This role is primarily desk‑based and involves extensive use of computers. Occasionally, the job may require travel to attend meetings and programs.
