Position Description and Responsibilities

Position

Description:

The Heritage College is seeking an Assistant Professor of Instruction in Medical Anatomy to participate and lead in the delivery of our integrated medical curriculum on the Cleveland, Ohio Campus with a preferred start date on or around July 1, 2026. The selected candidate will join a group of faculty in the Department of Biomedical Sciences, which will provide opportunities for cross-discipline training and collaboration.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Teach anatomical sciences, histology, neuroanatomy, and embryology in an integrative team-based teaching and learning environment, including medical morphology labs and large group interactive learning sessions.
  • Collaborate with faculty across Heritage College campuses to develop and lead curricular content (learning objectives, team-based learning sessions, resources, assessments) in a timely manner.
  • Prepare anatomical prosections as needed.
  • Participate in small group coaching and mentoring of osteopathic medical students.
  • Provide service to the college (e.g., interviewing prospective candidates for admissions, participating in outreach activities, serving as faculty representative to student organizations).
  • Commit to ongoing professional development and/or advancement activities.
  • Commit to excellence and innovation in medical education with an emphasis on active learning.
