Job Description
- The Russ College of Engineering and Technology's Mechanical Engineering Department at Ohio University has occasional need for adjunct instructors to teach or co-teach classes for engineering students. All classes in our programs may be taught by qualified adjuncts, but most often adjuncts would be used at the undergraduate level for specialized elective courses, professional or leadership-related courses, or fundamental engineering courses.

These courses range from 1 credit hour to 3 credit hours and are primarily offered in a face-to-face mode, but some adjuncts could be hired for online teaching. Adjunct instructors would normally be hired to teach a specific course for a specific semester, and would receive specific student learning outcomes, instructional materials, and support for the specific course they would be hired to teach.

Adjunct instructor responsibilities usually include leading class sessions, grading student work, participating in course assessment activities, and responding to student questions in a timely manner.
