Senior Engineering Manager - Industrial Equipment | Capital Projects | Mechanical Engineering
Location: Onsite (U.S.
-based)
Travel: Up to 20%
Compensation: $130,000 - $175,000 + bonus + full benefits
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead design, product development, and continuous improvement efforts for complex industrial / capital equipment systems used in food, beverage, and pharmaceutical applications.
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving engineering performance, mentoring teams, and partnering cross-functionally to deliver innovative, high-quality equipment solutions.
What You'll Do
- Lead and develop a team of engineers focused on mechanical design, controls, and structural systems
- Oversee new product development (NPD) and enhancement of existing equipment lines
- Solve complex technical challenges across manufacturing, assembly, procurement, and field service
- Drive improvements in quality, reliability, and warranty performance
- Lead design reviews, engineering standards, and best practices
- Partner with suppliers and vendors to improve quality and cost efficiency
- Support sales, service, and customer-facing teams with technical expertise
- Implement Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives (VA/VE, cost reduction)
- Drive innovation, IP development, and competitive benchmarking
- Manage engineering KPIs: cost savings, timelines, scope, quality, and team performance
- Hire, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering talent
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field (required)
- Master's degree or MBA (preferred)
- 10+ years experience in industrial or capital equipment design
- 5+ years leading and managing engineering teams
- Experience with Solid Works, ANSYS, or similar CAD/FEA tools
- Strong knowledge of metallic materials and pressure systems (ASME experience a plus)
- Certifications such as Six Sigma, Lean, or PMP are a plus
- Lead engineering for complex, high-value industrial systems
- High visibility with executive leadership and cross-functional teams
