Peer Recovery Supporter – Athens County, OHJoin our Team!
Integrated Services for Behavioral Health (ISBH) is a community-minded, forward-thinking behavioral health organization helping people along the road to health and well-being. We meet people in their homes and communities and help connect them to the resources they need. We serve southeastern and central ohio with a comprehensive array of behavioral health and other services – working with local partners to promote healthy people and strong communities.
All of our services are intended to be collaborative and personalized for the individual.
We are looking for certified peer supporters or people who are in long-term recovery from a substance use disorder or substance use with mental health, who are eligible to work toward becoming a certified peer supporter. Experience working with resources in Athens County preferred.
Essential Functions- Participates as an active member of the recovery team.
- Responsible for individual and community outreach efforts.
- Provides a continual exploration of the needs of person(s) served to empower their ability for long-term recovery.
- Connects person(s) served to additional recovery and community resources as needed.
- Assists the person served in identifying and accessing natural support systems in the community.
- Promotes coordination and linkage among providers within the local community.
- Coordinates or assists in accessing needed medications.
- Assists person(s) served to develop empowerment skills through promoting self-advocacy.
- Identifies barriers (internal and external) to full participation in community resources and developing strategies to overcome those barriers.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use conditions.
- Minimum 3 years of quality recovery from Substance Use Disorder.
- Familiarity with community health & human service systems.
- Experience with behavioral health and/or harm reduction programs preferred.
- Able to effectively communicate through verbal/written expression.
- Can effectively operate in an Internet-based, electronic health record (EHR) and other data environments.
