Pharmacy Technician, Pharmacy
Local pharmaceutical company in Athens, Ohio, is seeking Pharmacy Technicians to support daily pharmacy operations. In this role, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, assisting with prescription preparation, customer service, inventory management, and administrative tasks to ensure efficient and compliant pharmacy operations. This client is open to both entry-level and experienced candidates.
Key Responsibilities- Assist pharmacists with measuring, counting, packaging, and labeling medications
- Prepare and compound medications under supervision
- Greet patients, answer phone calls, and gather patient and insurance information
- Process insurance claims, payments, and cash register transactions
- Enter prescription and patient data into pharmacy systems
- Stock shelves, monitor inventory, and remove expired medications
- Order and organize pharmacy supplies as needed
- Maintain required paperwork and pharmacy records
- Follow all Ohio Board of Pharmacy regulations, safety standards, and infection‑control procedures
This is a full‑time, temp‑to‑direct position, hiring ASAP. The current schedule is Monday‑Friday: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM and Saturdays: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Hours may vary, and future expansion includes possible Sunday hours and midnight shifts. Pay is commensurate with experience. On‑site pharmaceutical training, paid testing/registration, and a benefits package is available.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ohio Board of Pharmacy registration and/or certification required
- Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT/PTCB) preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work accurately in a fast‑paced environment
- Ability to pass a drug screen and an FBI/BCI background check
