Director of Airport Maintenance
The Director of Airport Maintenance manages the day-to-day operations of Ohio University's airport maintenance and repair station to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of aviation services in compliance with all applicable federal regulations. Serves as the accountable manager for FAA Part 145 Certified Repair Station. Directs, oversees and serves as the Maintenance Coordinator for the Department of Aviation's Flight training program, providing the sole source of air worthiness of aircraft for all fleet training aircraft.
Develops maintenance procedures & process improvement to ensure safe & compliant aircraft maintenance operations in alignment with state, federal, and university guidelines. Manages inventory control processes for aircraft parts, supplies, and consumable materials. Serves as liaison for Part 145 Certified Repair Station in interactions with FAA, TSA, and other regulatory agencies.
Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Manages aircraft, airfield, and related equipment maintenance in compliance with federal regulations and safety standards. Ensures the upkeep, compliance, and functionality of aircraft and airfield.
Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a Master's degree in a related field, 8 or more years of related professional experience, and 5 or more years of supervisory experience, or equivalent education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Airplane & Powerplant (A&P) license and Inspection Authorization (IA)
