Job Description

The Visiting Professor position is a full time, eleven-month position for the academic year  and may be extended for up to an additional 2 years.

The Visiting Professor will engage in directly teaching as needed in the School of Nursing graduate level curriculum (all track/certificates). Additional duties will include working directly with current and prospective clinical/preceptor sites, collaborating with all clinical placement vendors/partners, assuring preceptor orientation and evaluation; clinical supervisor recruitment/orientation and evaluation; orientation and support for students and faculty navigating the clinical documentation system; support of on campus intensives;

maintenance of accurate database related to clinical affiliation agreements, non-Ohio state board of nursing reconciliations, contractual arrangements/confirmations of all preceptor clinical sites.

All School of Nursing faculty are required to actively engage in School of Nursing governance to ensure program standards and outcomes are fully met. This position will also provide assistance with accreditation for the graduate-level nursing program including data compilation, data analysis, and reporting.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

* Teaching in graduate-level School of Nursing programs.

* Oversight of student clinical preceptor agreements/site for all graduate-level program tracks.

* Collaborating with community partners/vendors to facilitate clinical learning experiences for students.

* Systematic and ongoing review of state Boards of Nursing requirements for states in which the graduate programs are offered to ensure and document ongoing compliance for all graduate nursing programs.

* Assessing educational needs of the preceptor/mentors and clinical supervisors; planning, developing, and evaluating programs in collaboration with faculty to help meet those needs.

* Coordinating and conducting orientation for clinical supervisors and preceptors.

* Providing leadership for clinical supervisors through regular communication, evaluation, and reporting in collaboration with the Associate Directors.

* Collecting program evaluation data and conducting data analysis with assistance from statistician as needed.

* Communicating regularly with Associate Directors and School Director regarding clinical needs, issues, quality improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

Completed and conferred Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution is required by the start date of appointment.

A minimum of three years (36 months full time equivalent) of clinical work experience as an RN in the United States is required.

An active and unencumbered Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for obtaining and maintaining an Ohio RN license is required. Must have Ohio RN license prior to start date.

Preferred Qualifications

Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) certification is preferred.

Board certification as an APRN is preferred.

Previous teaching and managing clinical experiences in a nursing program is preferred.

Prior experience precepting graduate nursing students is preferred.

Virtual and face-to face clinical, simulation, and online education experience in a nursing program is preferred.
