Dawg Peer Mentor Program advances UGA's well-being goals by representing UGA Well-Being and the Fontaine Center's initiatives to the campus community. The program is a Well-Being Thriving Initiative that utilizes one-on-one peer mentoring grounded in positive psychology. Peer mentor conversations focus on fostering resilience, developing emotional intelligence, identifying individual strengths and assets, and building meaningful relationships.

The Fontaine Peer Educators in the Dawg2

Dawg Peer Mentor Program support mentees through goal setting and planning, fostering community connections through interpersonal skill development and relationship building, and introducing students to campus resources that support their academic, personal, and social success. This is a part-time, flexible position with an expectation of working no more than 10 hours per week. Responsibilities include participating in training and professional development, preparing and delivering program activities, and attending scheduled group and/or individual supervision sessions with a supervisor.

The position will manage multiple tasks simultaneously while remaining actively engaged in assigned responsibilities. Applicants should have effective communication with staff and peers to ensure responsibilities are completed accurately and within established deadlines.

Duties/Responsibilities

Dawg Mentor Program which is responsible for supporting mentees with goal setting/planning, gaining community connections through interpersonal skill and relationship development, and introducing students to the campus resources. Complete content specific onboarding training and ongoing professional development through learning current programs and resources. Complete Positive Psychology Training courses. Conduct 5-10 one-to-one sessions per week. Effectively engage in culturally competent interactions with a large and varied student body.

Duties/Responsibilities
- Represent UGA's Well-Being and Fontaine Center Initiatives to the campus community. Attend on-campus tabling and outreach events to provide information on resources and answer questions. Attend approved off-campus tabling and outreach events to provide information on resources and answer questions. Identify opportunities for information and resource distribution on campus.

Minimum Qualifications:

Meet all Basic UGA Student Eligibility Criteria. Be enrolled at least Half-Time. Be otherwise eligible as determined by OSFA. This includes but is not limited to maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). Preferred Major in Psychology, Social Work and/or Human Service-related field. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel. Ability to explain and present data in a clear and understandable manner. Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, on campus and in the community. A commitment to working with various populations. Ability to work a part-time schedule with flexibility to accommodate both class schedules and departmental staffing needs. Physical Demands
- Transport light weight equipment (computer and program materials) across campus and to offsite presentations as needed if working with our joint program, Dawg2
