The Senior Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Sweetwater, TN, responsible for delivering advanced accounting and tax services to individual and business clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and reviewing financial statements, overseeing general ledger activities, and ensuring accurate month-end and year-end closings. The Senior Accountant will prepare and review tax returns, assist with tax planning, and ensure compliance with relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
The role involves analyzing financial data, identifying variances or opportunities for improvement, and presenting findings to leadership and clients.
- Strong technical accounting skills, including general ledger management, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliations.
- Demonstrated tax expertise with experience preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns and supporting tax planning activities. 5 years experience recommended.
- Proficiency with accounting and tax software, spreadsheets, and related office productivity tools; ability to learn new systems efficiently.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Clear, professional communication skills for working with clients and team members, including the ability to explain complex financial information in accessible terms.
- Proven experience in a public accounting environment or similar setting; prior senior or supervisory responsibilities are highly beneficial.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA license or progress toward licensure strongly preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in Sweetwater, TN, collaborate effectively with colleagues, maintain confidentiality, and uphold ethical and professional standards.
