Position: IATF 16949 Quality Engineer – Stamping & Weld Assemblies
Role Overview Join us to elevate manufacturing quality across stamping and weld assembly operations while steering multiple OEM launches. You’ll be the quality systems expert ensuring readiness for audits, flawless submissions, and robust problem solving.

Top Responsibilities Lead new product quality for multiple launches—plan, collect, document, and submit evidence through OEM customer portals; strong focus on German OEM programs.

Interpret GD&T and dimensional layouts to qualify parts, samples, and prototypes according to the quality system.

Execute AIAG Core Tools: PPAP, APQP, MSA & SPC, FMEA—ensuring process capability and product conformity.

Champion corrective actions via 8D (5Y, Ishikawa, Kepner-Tregoe); track issues to verified closure and sustain through a maintained 8D/CI log.

Drive data-centric improvements using DOE, SPC, Pareto charts, Cause & Effect, and Minitab.

Respond to internal/external concerns; implement corrective and preventive measures and validate root causes.

Reduce scrap and waste through proactive process enhancements.

Define and administer discrepant material disposition methods; analyze cost and responsibility.

Visit customers and suppliers for containment and problem resolution, as needed.

Provide dimensional feedback to Tool Room, Engineering, and Manufacturing.

Ensure accurate instrument usage on the floor through training and guidance.

Implement and audit IATF policies and procedures; adhere to ISO 14001, IATF 16949, and safety requirements.

Operate effectively within metal stamping and/or weld assembly environments.

Work safely as a condition of employment; maintain a clean, organized workspace.

Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a four-year institution (required).Ideal profile: 5+ years directly managing multi-level data collection and documentation with OEM portal submissions across multiple product launches (heavily focused on German OEMs).

Preferred experience:

3+ years in automotive manufacturing Quality; 2+ years within a fast-paced automotive OEM/Supplier environment; hands-on involvement with IATF certification and audits.

Skills Strong GD&T proficiency and metrology know-how.

AIAG Core Tools (PPAP, APQP, MSA & SPC, FMEA) expertise.

Proven corrective action leader with 8D, 5Y, Ishikawa, and Kepner-Tregoe experience.

Statistical tool fluency: DOE, SPC, Pareto, Cause & Effect, and Minitab.

Analytical, quantitative mindset with data-driven decision-making.

Computer proficiency with basic systems and Plex.

Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to read/interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Able to interpret instructions delivered in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats.

Math competency including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and basic algebra.

Detail orientation, strong organization, and the ability to meet deadlines while multitasking.

Problem solver comfortable with limited standardization and varied practical challenges.
