Industrial Automation Maintenance Specialist; Automotive

• Forklift licensed.

The plant is quieting after day shift, but your work is just beginning. In Athens, TN, you arrive ready to keep robotic welders humming, conveyors moving, and complex PLC/HMI systems responding. You’re the person production counts on when a servo axis throws a fault, a pneumatic circuit leaks, or a safety interlock stops a line.

• WORK SCHEDULE THIRD SHIFT:
• Sunday
  - Thursday 6:00pm - 2:30am or Sunday
  - Thursday 11:00pm - 7:30am

• Keep industrial automation online: perform maintenance and repairs on conveyor systems, robotic welders, hydraulics, pneumatics, and servo-powered equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical controls issues: troubleshoot PLC hardware/software and wiring, and support HMI functionality.
• Champion safety: conduct machine safety inspections and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Own the data: use ERP software to document work, track PMs, and manage parts inventory.
• Verify performance: visually inspect and test equipment using electronic, electrical, and mechanical test tools.
• Maximize uptime: coordinate with production control, tool room, and quality to optimize manpower, machines, and equipment utilization.
• Eliminate chronic issues: review production, quality, maintenance, and operations reports to determine root causes.
• Listen and learn: detect abnormalities by sound and collaborate with supervisors and maintenance teammates.
• Improve the process: partner with production to recommend machine and equipment modifications that lift throughput and quality.
• Keep parts flowing: work with Tool Crib Attendants and the Maintenance Planner to generate purchase orders for tools, components, and equipment.
• Live safe: follow plant safety regulations and policies at all times; maintain excellent housekeeping (5S).
• Stay proactive: complete scheduled preventive maintenance on all equipment and report out as needed.
• Engage in problem solving: participate in Production meetings, 5-Why, RCA, and other cross-functional sessions.
• Pitch in: operate forklifts and other equipment as needed.

• High School Diploma or GED required;
  Associate’s degree in a related field strongly preferred.
• 4+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, or a combination of trade school and experience.
• 3+ years of auto-supplier, steel stamping maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with PLC/HMI knowledge.
• Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); solid written, verbal, and presentation skills (must be able to communicate in English).
• Forklift licensed.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role (see below).

• Comfort working at heights when required.
• Exposure to continuous noise and occasional temperature changes.
