Production Manager

• Demonstrate that safety is the utmost and foremost important aspect of your production team.
• Meet schedule and quality requirements.
• Organize and allocate resources to effectively and efficiently meet production targets, responding to resource issues as necessary. Lead capacity planning and resource optimization for the assigned unit or line.
• Identify and recommend technical equipment and facility improvements as necessary.
• Ensure execution of volume, conforming product, and on-time delivery targets for the assigned production lines.
• Identify deficiencies in production areas, propose improvement activities, and oversee implementation of actions to improve production performance.
• Monitor activities and initiate actions to eliminate problems, ensure that employees are properly trained, and work is performed in accordance with health and safety requirements. Resolve semi-complex technical or human resource issues and work with senior supervisors and human resource representatives to resolve more complex issues.
• Manage the resolution of critical product or equipment issues together with relevant internal teams.
• Provide leadership and development to the team, creating a skilled work group. Guide and motivate staff.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization on a regular cadence.
• Manage changes through effective management techniques.
• Possess a working knowledge of continuous improvement programs such as 5S, Statistical Process Control, Kaizen, and Six Sigma. Apply this knowledge in a structured process improvement format aimed toward safety, service, quality, and cost improvement.
• Drive continuous improvement within the department.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Supervisory experience 3‑6+ years in an industrial environment; demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related areas.
• Ability to foster growth of personnel through coaching and developmental planning for internal bench talent.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals, motivate employees, and elicit work output.
• Knowledge of and ability to effectively use computer software as it pertains to business.
• Strongly preferred:
  Metal stamping and plating knowledge and plastic extrusion knowledge.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB permanently in the US.
