Production Manager
Your Role and Responsibilities- Demonstrate that safety is the utmost and foremost important aspect of your production team.
- Meets schedule and quality requirements.
- Organizes and allocates resources to effectively and efficiently meet production targets. Responds to resource issues as necessary. Leads capacity planning and resource optimization for the assigned unit or line.
- Identifies and recommends technical equipment and facility improvements as necessary.
- Ensures execution of volume, conforming product, and on‑time delivery targets for the assigned production lines.
- Identifies deficiencies in production area, proposes improvement activities, and oversees implementation of actions to improve production performance.
- Monitors activities and initiates actions to eliminate problems, ensures that employees are properly trained, and work is performed in accordance with health and safety requirements. Resolves semi‑complex technical or human resource issues and works with senior supervisors and human resource representatives to resolve more complex issues.
- Manages the resolution of critical product or equipment issues together with relevant internal teams.
- Provides leadership and development to the team to create a skilled work group. Guides and motivates team.
- Communicates effectively with all levels of the organization at a regular cadence.
- Manages changes through effective management techniques.
- Possesses a working knowledge of programs designed for continuous improvement, such as 5S, Statistical Process Control, Kaizen and Six Sigma. Applies this knowledge in a structured process improvement format aimed toward safety, service, quality and cost improvement.
- Drives continuous improvement within the department.

Qualifications for the Role- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Supervisory experience 3‑6+ years in an industrial environment; demonstrated technical and professional skills in job‑related areas.
- Ability to foster growth of personnel through coaching and developmental planning for internal bench talent.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals required, motivate employees and elicit work output.
- Knowledge of and ability to effectively use computer software as it pertains to business.
- Strongly preferred:
Metal stamping and plating knowledge and plastic extrusion knowledge. - Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
- Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB permanently in the US.
