Job Overview

Seeking an experienced Psychiatric Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in a geriatric behavioral health unit. This role focuses on patients with dementia and behavioral disturbances in an inpatient setting.

The ideal candidate is calm, team-oriented, and experienced managing complex dementia-related behaviors.

• Provide direct nursing care to geriatric behavioral health patients (age 50+)
• Care for patients with dementia and behavioral disturbances
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:7
• Conduct behavioral assessments and monitor patient safety
• Administer medications and evaluate treatment response
• Assist providers during crisis intervention situations
• Maintain accurate documentation in Medhost
• Support a safe, structured therapeutic environment
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary behavioral health team

• Active Tennessee RN license
• BLS
• Minimum 1–2 years psychiatric nursing experience
• Must have direct experience with dementia patients
• Tennessee Abuse Registry clearance required prior to start
• Must reside 60+ miles from facility to qualify as travel
• All required certifications must be active prior to start

• Shift: 3x12 Hour Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• 36 hours guaranteed weekly
• Weekend requirement: 24 hours
• No call requirement
• No floating required
• 24-bed geriatric behavioral health unit
• Orientation held bi-weekly on Mondays
• Scrubs:
  Solid colors only
• No facial piercings

Must have dementia with behavioral disturbance experience. Candidates must be 60+ miles from facility (no locals accepted). Submission form with confirmed start date and requested time off required at time of submission. All certifications must be active prior to start date. Start dates are typically Mondays.
