Job Description

Maintenance Tech
-PRN
- Athens position available. Variable shifts.

This position will consist of 80% of time working as a paint tech and 20% of time working as a mechanical tech.

Core competencies for the position include, but are not limited to the following:

• Maintains paint and drywall finish in hospital facilities.
• Performs other minor mechanical maintenance tasks as directed.
• Performs preventative maintenance on facilities equipment.
• Assists with grounds maintenance as directed.
• Maintains a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
• Works at both Athens and Etowah facilities.
• Performs plumbing, strong electrical, HVAC, and light carpentry duties.
• Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Accesses needs and orders needed repair and replacement parts.
• Has working knowledge of the Nurse Call System, fire alarm system, generator and boiler system, heat and air units, pneumatic system, vacuum and chiller system, pumps and motors.
• Has working knowledge of hospital beds, televisions, power tools, and kitchen equipment.
• Assists in maintenance of the building (i.e. painting, wallpaper).
• Has understanding of the principles of electricity (i.e. voltage, resistance, current).
• Maintains & programs telephone systems (i.e. voicemail, etc.).
• Performs tests on various systems in the hospital.
• Works as onsite security.

• Must be experienced and proficient in both painting and drywall finishing.
• Experience in commercial construction is preferred.
• 2-5 years as a painter / drywall finisher.
• Electrical background with control troubleshooting required.
