Role summary:
The (USA) Developmental Technician, Facility Services HVAC/R, supports the maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems across multiple facilities. This role involves completing required documentation, assisting with capital expenditure planning, and performing preventive maintenance and repairs under supervision. The technician collaborates with management and business partners to identify priorities, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

By adapting to change and continuously improving processes, this position contributes to efficient facility operations and cost control while upholding Walmart’s standards of integrity and service excellence.
About the team:
The HVAC/R team plays a vital role in maintaining the comfort of Walmart facilities for associates and customers. They ensure the proper operation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration systems, coolers, and freezers that preserve the quality of stocked food. The team is dedicated to maintaining the cold chain and supporting facility services through preventive maintenance, repairs, and compliance with safety standards.

Collaborating closely with management and business partners, the team continuously works to improve system performance and uphold operational excellence across multiple locations.

• Complete and submit required documentation such as expense vouchers, refrigerant logs, and work orders to senior leadership.
• Assist in gathering capital expenditure lists and develop scopes of work for HVAC/R and energy management system updates.
• Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on HVAC/R equipment under supervision, following established policies and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with management, coworkers, and business partners to identify priorities, communicate progress, and recommend improvements.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA guidelines while maintaining company vehicles and coordinating necessary maintenance.
• Support cost control by conducting price comparisons and submitting warranty claims.

• Experience performing HVAC/R maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting in compliance with safety regulations.
• Ability to develop scopes of work and assist with capital expenditure documentation.
• Proficiency in completing and submitting required paperwork accurately and timely.
• Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with management, coworkers, and business partners.
• Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency guidelines.
• Capability to operate and maintain company vehicles following policies and safety standards.
• Adaptability to learn from feedback and support continuous improvement initiatives.
