Earth Link is hiring a Customer Support Representative to provide technical support to our business customers and help ensure the reliable operation of our telecommunications services.
This is an entry‑level role and a great opportunity for someone with a strong interest in technology who wants to build hands‑on experience in technical support, networking fundamentals, and customer service. If you enjoy problem‑solving, learning new systems, and helping customers, this role offers a solid foundation for career growth.
This position is based on‑site at our Athens, TX office and works a consistent daytime schedule.
The Responsibilities For This Position Include- Diagnose and resolve basic network and modem functionality issues
- Walk customers through common hardware and software configurations
- Provide support to customers in person, by phone, and via email
- Document customer interactions, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions accurately
- Create, update, and monitor work orders and trouble tickets
- Communicate status updates to customers throughout the resolution process
- Perform follow‑up calls to confirm service restoration and customer satisfaction
- Escalate complex technical issues to Tier 2 support when needed
Perform site surveys as assigned
- Passion for technology and interest in learning technical systems
- Customer‑focused attitude with strong listening skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable working with computers and learning new software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
- Ability to pass a pre‑employment background check and drug screen
- Previous customer service or technical support experience, preferred
- Coursework, certifications, or self‑study related to IT, networking, or technology, preferred
- Hourly Pay: $13.00 per hour
