Job Description Unit A Position (184 days, with the possibility of 5 additional days before school year, and 5 additional days at end of school year for total of 194 days)
Provide Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 interventions (classroom lessons, individual and small group counseling) per special education requirements, 504 plans or demonstrated need based on data with a focus on skills building.
● Plan, organize, and deliver a comprehensive school counseling program in classrooms, small groups, and individually. These lessons will address academic, career and social/emotional domains, to ensure all students participate in post-secondary planning that focuses on goal development.
● Consult and collaborate with other school personnel in establishing support for students in need and in understanding the physical, social, emotional, and psychological factors that strengthen or detract from a student's academic achievement.
● Support the implementation of restorative and relationship centered learning practices including but not limited to student to student mediations, student to staff mediations, and community building circles.
● Provide classroom push in support as requested by staff or administrators that supports the implementation of a high expectations learning environment.
● Support students in selecting courses/pathways that align with their goals.
● Ensure that all students have complete schedules.
● Conduct risk assessments with students, consult with community emergency services providers and refer students for evaluation as needed.
● Communicate regularly with and work collaboratively with families of students receiving services.
● Consult and coordinate with community service providers when appropriate.

● Participate in IEP and 504 meetings.
● Participate as a member of the school PBIS and MTSS teams.
● Meet documentation requirements pertaining to IEP's, mandated reporting, and college applications.
● Attend professional development opportunities to maintain a high level of skill and knowledge of current research and practices.
● Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
