Pay Range: $33.14 - $42.49

Candidate will conduct interactions with everyone in a friendly, courteous and respectful manner. Assures that all radiographs are of optimum quality. Follows pre‑determined image criteria to assess radiographs to ensure all patients are well positioned and all anatomical information is on each view as ordered. Operates x‑ray equipment for pre‑determined equipment techniques to ensure proper radiograph including all general diagnostic, fluoroscopic, portable and surgical equipment.

Accurately enters orders into the Meditech computer system. Adheres to ALARA principles for Radiation Protection.

• Assure that all CT scans include accurate demographic information, proper image density, and contrast for high‑quality images.
• Assure that all mammography exams include accurate demographic information, proper image density, contrast, and high‑quality images.
• Perform daily CT QA and record data to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Perform daily mammography QA and record data to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Operate the hospital PACS system to ensure all images (mammography, CT and radiography) are correctly transmitted with accurate data for radiologists.
• Coordinate merging, moving, and retrieving studies between servers to ensure current and prior exams are available for reading.
• Follow pre‑determined image criteria to ensure patients are well positioned and all anatomical information is on each view.
• Assure that all radiographs include markers, demographic information, and proper image density and contrast.
• Operate all diagnostic equipment to ensure proper image quality.
• Operate x‑ray equipment for pre‑determined techniques to ensure proper radiograph, including all general diagnostic, fluoroscopic, portable, and surgical equipment.
• Assess patients to ensure optimum exposure techniques. For women of childbearing age, take precautions to determine pregnancy status and minimize radiation exposure.
• Assess the body part to be radiographed and determine appropriate technique for radiation exposure and quality.
• Utilize collimation, safety measures, and protective devices.
• Review physician orders to confirm the correct examination is ordered based on clinical history.
• Accurately enter orders and charging procedures into the Meditech computer system.
• Maintain a safe environment by ensuring sharp objects, toxic substances, and other hazards are inaccessible.
• Keep the environment free of objects that may contribute to falls, slips, or trips, and provide assistive devices for ambulation.
• Be aware of increased risk of falls for elderly patients and visitors, ensuring the environment is free of hazards.
• Be sensitive to hearing difficulties in older patients; use appropriate level of vocal volume and clarify communication.
