Overview
Our client located in Athol, MA is looking for a Buyer/Planner to join their growing team.
Responsibilities- Procure materials, components, equipment, supplies, and services to support operational requirements
- Plan, schedule, and monitor goods and services, employing techniques such as JIT, Kanban, Blanket POs, and Reschedules
- Ensure timely availability of materials while maintaining optimal inventory levels
- Develop, implement, and support sourcing and supplier management initiatives
- Maintain accurate data in the MRP/ERP system
- Track and manage key performance metrics
- Support Lean and EHS activities and initiatives
- Other tasks as assigned
- Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2–3 years of related experience
- Computer proficiency including MS Office Suite (especially Word and Excel)
- Strong understanding of MRP systems (Oracle or SAP preferred)
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills, attention to detail, and cross-functional coordination abilities
- APICS or CPIM certification is a plus
- Pay based on experience
