Overview
Manager, Private Client Services (Family Office) role at Alvarez & Marsal (A&M).
We are growing our Private Client Services (PCS) practice, serving private companies, their owners, and high net worth individuals. This position is for a Manager within Private Client Services, Tax, with responsibilities across accounting, client management, and leadership to support client needs and the team.
Responsibilities- Provide multiple clients with a variety of accounting and support services including but not limited to:
- Responsible for the review and oversight of accounting processes, including timely posting of all financial transactions to the general ledger, maintaining the general ledger, generating and posting journal entries, coordinating monthly close, and preparing financial reports
- Oversee and manage the accounting functions for specific families, including accounts payable and ensuring invoices and payments are processed accurately and timely
- Review and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts and document business transactions
- Manage and reconcile bank accounts
- Reconcile various expenses and intercompany accounts
- Prepare monthly/quarterly financial packages for clients with related work papers
- Assist in preparation of annual tax package and supporting documents
- Establish, modify, document, and coordinate implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures
- Develop trusted relationships with and collaborate with clients to compile project information and resolve issues
- Conduct day-to-day management of accounts to ensure delivery of timely and accurate work product
- Supervise, develop, mentor, and motivate Associates and Senior Associates by participating in training, providing performance feedback, counseling, and fostering a team-based atmosphere
- Manage workload and deadlines for Associates and Senior Associates with emphasis on quality, efficiency, and project effectiveness
- Interact with clients to understand critical areas of importance and apply tax technical knowledge to client situations
- Create deliverables that are concise, complete, and address client-critical elements
- Clearly communicate work plans, project objectives, and timelines to multidisciplinary project teams
- Encourage open expression of ideas and actively seek opportunities for diverse perspectives
- Build client relationships and demonstrate working knowledge of client businesses; opportunity to assume additional responsibility quickly
- Assist with business development, including creating business development resources and proposal materials
- Bachelors degree in Accounting
- 4+ years of relevant experience;
Private Client Services/Family Office/High Net Worth accounting experience strongly preferred - CPA or Licensed Attorney
- High level of integrity and respect for the confidential nature of information in Private Client Services
- Prior proven experience leading and managing work streams and mentoring junior staff
- Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to articulate complex tax concepts, establish credibility, and influence clients
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
- Advanced user of all Microsoft Office products (emphasis on Excel)
- Strong knowledge and experience in Quick Books
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- High motivation to learn and grow
- Detail-oriented and well-organized
- Bilingual, a plus

Additionaldetails
- Salary range: $110,000 - $140,000 annually, depending on education, experience, skills, and geography. A discretionary bonus program is also offered.
