The Role

The Customer Accounting (Accounts Receivable) Specialist serves as the receivable liaison for a portfolio of small business customers, working to reduce past‑due balances, DSO, and bad debt while providing fast, reliable answers to AR related questions. The role focuses on customer‑centric service, resolving payment obstacles, and maintaining accurate records in Oracle Financials.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Initiate/receive phone calls or emails from assigned customers to secure payment for past‑due invoices.
• Build partnerships with customer account contacts and the sales organization to identify and resolve payment obstacles.
• Identify and resolve disputes according to company standards.
• Enter and maintain detailed conversation notes for all assigned customer accounts.
• Research unidentified payments with collaboration from finance staff when needed.
• Perform account maintenance when necessary or instructed (refunds, credits, write‑offs, etc.).
• Provide management with weekly and monthly reporting related to account updates.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & Education

• High School Diploma.
• 3–5 years of Accounts Receivable or collections experience in a B2B environment.
• Advanced Excel experience required (VLookups, Pivot Tables, etc.).
• Knowledge of basic accounting and reconciliation skills.

Additional Knowledge and Skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Takes initiative to seek process improvement opportunities.
• Ability to stay calm in conflict‑filled conversations.
• Good follow‑up and follow‑through.
• ERP systems experience required (Oracle and Seibel preferred).
• Common sense approach and multitasking abilities.

The salary for this position is approximately $24–28.80 USD per hour. Compensation offers within this range are tailored to candidates’ experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other relevant factors.
