This is a great opportunity for a Staff Accountant who is looking to develop their skillset while gaining exposure to a variety of corporate accounting and finance areas. The Staff Accountant’s primary role will be the review and management of Corporate departments’ general ledger accounts and departmental reporting (Marketing, Retail, IT, CRO and Finance). Additionally, this role would assist in supporting the lease subledger system, including entering leases.

This is a vital role with future opportunities for career progression as the business grows. The candidate should be highly motivated, detail‑oriented, trustworthy, and results‑driven. Prior experience in general accounting, journal entries, variance analysis, and ERP systems is a plus. We are willing to train the right accounting professional.

Job Location

This is a hybrid opportunity based out of our office in Atlanta, GA.

Job Responsibilities
  • Corporate Accounting: Ensure proper recording and coding of Corporate costs. Assist with the monthly close process, balance sheet reconciliations, GL review for coding accuracy, as well as internal and external audit requests and ad hoc reporting. Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for manager review and approval in alignment with corporate finance deadlines.
  • Departmental Reporting: Analyze monthly actual performance compared to budget and provide ad hoc reporting to budget owners. This role will be the liaison between accounting and Corporate departments to facilitate accurate and timely reporting to decision makers.
  • Lease Administration: Ensure CoStar (cloud based lease platform/subledger) is up to date with current lease portfolio. Review lease contracts and manage the accounting/analysis components of the lease portfolio through lease administration software, including key lease life cycle events, such as extensions, amendments, and terminations.
  • Collaboration: Maintain a great working relationship within our corporate finance team and with the teams in the divisions and departments.
  • Ad hoc: Support ad hoc financial information requests, analyses, and other special projects, as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 1+ years of related work experience in Accounting or Finance (public or private) is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Organized and able to prioritize tasks.
