The Chick‑fil‑A Tax Department handles tax compliance, technology, special projects, research, and audit defense for independently‑owned franchised restaurants and corporate activities. The team supports tax planning, regulatory reporting, and consulting to stakeholders, governments, external auditors, and business leaders. As the organization grows, the department influences business decisions, reduces tax liability, and mitigates risk.
Responsibilities- Prepare, process, and file payroll tax returns for franchisees, Chick‑fil‑A Inc., and related affiliates in moderately to complex taxing jurisdictions.
- Manage payroll tax rate research for franchisee entities, including off‑site locations, delivery locations, and food trucks.
- Register tax accounts, remit payments, reconcile accounts, resolve notices, and perform related accounting duties.
- Apply thorough knowledge of payroll tax compliance to identify and resolve payroll tax issues, working independently on routine matters and consulting the supervisor on unusual issues.
- Assist with compliance, audit, or complex payroll tax projects, and lead small, low‑risk projects while contributing to larger initiatives.
- Collaborate with governmental agencies, influencing practices of other accountants and functional partners, and fostering standardization.
- 1+ years of payroll, tax, or accounting experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA eligibility, or 5+ years of payroll tax compliance experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance with 5+ years of payroll, tax, or accounting experience.
- CPP and/or CPA certification.
Travel requirement: 10%. Education level:
Bachelor’s Degree. Salary: $57,000 – $93,000 (Atlanta, GA).
