Tax Supervisor within the Client Accounting Services team at Element CPA in Cabbagetown, Atlanta.
SummaryThe Tax Supervisor position is responsible for supervising staff accountants and interns as well as providing tax reporting services working as an integral member of the Tax Practice Team.
ResponsibilitiesA Senior Tax Accountant at Element will be expected to,
• Prepare Tax returns, including Individuals (1040), Trusts (1041 and 5227), Partnerships (1065), S and C-corps (1120), Gift (709) Charitable Organizations (990), as well as other federal, state and local tax returns.
• Provide timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds reviewer’s and client’s expectations
• Provide training for interns and entry level staff
• Recognize and inform senior management of opportunities to increase level and types of services to clients
• Ensure professional development through ongoing education and obtaining additional certifications as appropriate
• Start providing detailed review of numbers on Tax returns
• Handle routine client tax questions, research tax issues, and works with clients to collect necessary information for tax return completion and compliance
• Travel to client sites as needed
Required Skills1. Ability to interpret legal documents
2. Knowledge of general ledger systems
3. Ability to meet deadlines
4. Advanced understanding of capitalization methods and policies related to capital assets, intangible assets and other depreciable assets.
5. Ability to prepare and review Georgia, New York, California and other multi-state tax returns
6. Exceptional written and verbal communication
7. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
8. Problem-solving and analytical thinking

Required Qualifications and ExperienceA candidate for this position will have components of the following which qualify them as an applicant:
• 4 Years Minimum Experience working in tax in a public accounting firm
• Formal tax accounting education at an accredited college or university
• Formal training in a corporate environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs and experience with Quick Books products, with a strong emphasis on Quick Books Online. Experience with various accounting and tax software platforms, including Ultra Tax, Net Client CS and Case Ware.
A highly qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate the ability to quickly navigate other software applications without prior experience with that software.
