Audit Manageron the Assurance Services Team at Element CPA in Cabbagetown, Atlanta.

Summary

We are searching for an Audit Manager interested in being a key component in building and growing a world class audit department. The candidate will have 3-6 years of experience performing financial statement audits for a well-established public accounting firm, but will be well suited to work in an entrepreneurial and thoughtful way to help build a progressive audit practice. We are also interested in Senior Auditors who are qualified to take the next step to Manager.

Responsibilities

An Audit Manager will be expected to,

1. Build strong working relationships with clients

2. Effectively document work so that others can reperform the work without consultation from the individual completing the work

3. Identify and communicate client and engagement issues as well as progress in a timely fashion to teammates and supervisors

4. Maintain awareness of current industry trends, technology, and developments

5. Handle additional duties and special projects to ensure the business is operating efficiently and in compliance with all current regulations

6. Work to accurately complete project components and tasks including, but not limited to, the following:

• Supervising audit engagements from planning to conclusion, including designing substantive procedures to satisfy the firms audit methodologies and third party requirements

• Complete and review audit work papers that accurately document the procedures performed and allows for an efficient review process

• Analyze, evaluate, develop, and implement control systems that optimize operations or utilize new technologies

• Record, review, and interpret data to determine the effectiveness of controls and operations

• Research discrepancies, operational problems, or other issues that affect the engagement

• Examine records, reports, receipts, or other documents and knowledgeably compare them to company assets and liabilities

• Supervise the work project and tasks for Junior Accountants

As an emerging leader in our practice, the candidate will be expected to provide assistance in other practice areas, including tax and consultative assistance, as required by the firm. Our service offerings are varied, and the right candidate will be comfortable tackling new and ever changing projects and challenges.

Required Experience

While education and practical experience both play a role in qualifying a candidate for this position, our only minimum education requirement is one that qualifies the candidate to become a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Georgia. A strong educational component is a very desirable trait in a candidate, however, we know that quality practical experience can provide the same benefits for a candidate as formal education.

A candidate for this position will have components of the following which qualify them as an applicant:

• Experience working as an auditor with a well-established public accounting firm.

• Formal accounting education at an accredited college or university.

• Certification as a CPA or significant progress toward that designation.
