Tax Staff Accountant

We are looking to add a Tax Staff Accountant at our North Atlanta location. The ideal candidate will be working with the state and local tax team to help streamline and build the sales tax compliance practice (with no prior experience needed), consult with clients on the implementation and ongoing management of sales tax software, perform sales tax compliance tasks, and be an integral component in supporting the growth and continued maturation of the state and local tax practice.

• Consult with clients on implementation and ongoing management of sales tax software including Avalara, Vertex, Sovos, and Tax Jar.
• Help organize, build, and streamline the sales tax compliance practice (with no prior experience needed)
• Occasionally perform sales tax compliance tasks (e.g., registering a business for sales tax purposes) (with no prior experience needed)
• Customize client deliverable templates to specific clients and projects
• Conduct limited state tax research including resolving state tax notices and other limited tax matters (with no prior experience needed)
• Organize and assist with preparing state and local tax training materials

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field
• Experience with sales tax compliance software (e.g., Avalara, Vertex, Sovos, Tax Jar), helpful
• 0-2 years of experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat (i.e., PDF)
• Proven time management, organizational and prioritization skills
• Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence
• Experience with SALT is a plus
