We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Permanent Controller to join our dynamic Accounting and Finance team. This role will be pivotal in guiding the financial decisions of our organization by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures. The successful candidate must have a strong understanding of GAAP, reinsurance, SOX, statutory reporting, Hyperion, pivot tables, and vlookups. The position requires an individual with a strategic mindset, excellent leadership skills, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.

Job Details Responsibilities

Oversee and manage all aspects of the accounting department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and treasury.

Implement and maintain a system of internal controls that will ensure company assets are adequately safeguarded and that all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with GAAP, statutory reporting, and SOX.

Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements and provide management with the information needed to make strategic decisions.

Coordinate activities of external auditors, ensuring all audit issues are resolved and all compliance issues are met, and the preparation of the annual financial statements is in accordance with GAAP and federal, state, and other required supplementary schedules and information.

Manage the company's reinsurance program to minimize risk and optimize financial return.

Utilize advanced features of Excel such as pivot tables and vlookups to analyze data and generate financial reports.

Use Hyperion financial management software for financial consolidation and reporting.

Ensure timely and accurate budget analysis and financial review for management team.

Advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the Accounting and Finance industry.

Extensive knowledge of GAAP, SOX, statutory reporting, and reinsurance.

Proficiency in using financial management software, particularly Hyperion.

Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and vlookups.

Exceptional leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team effectively.

Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.

Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and ability to multitask.

High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
