International Investor Tax Services (IITS) is the dedicated tax compliance division of BVT, an international real estate investment fund operator advising financial institutions, family offices, and high-net-worth investors. The U.S. office, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, is responsible for originating, structuring, monitoring, and managing U.S. real estate investments and investor tax compliance.
POSITION OVERVIEWWe are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Specialist to join our Tax Department. This position combines tax preparation and administrative responsibilities and provides an opportunity to develop expertise in partnership, corporate, and individual income tax compliance, particularly for investors in real estate partnerships.
The ideal candidate has experience or education in accounting, finance, tax preparation, or tax administration and is comfortable working with detailed financial information and deadlines. Training on our specialized tax software will be provided as needed.Prior experience with partnership taxation, real estate investments, or tax software is a plus, but is not required.
- Prepare partnership, corporate, and nonresident individual income tax returns for investors in real estate partnerships using CCH Pro System Axcess Tax software.
- Assist with tax compliance activities and filing deadlines.
- Company training on specialized tax software will be provided as needed.
- Coordinate with internal data providers to organize, review, and assemble complete investor tax packages.
- Review tax documentation for completeness and maintain organized tax records.
- Prepare correspondence and follow up with the IRS and state taxing authorities regarding notices and inquiries.
- Manage client and ownership information.
- Maintain tax database records.
- Process refund checks.
- Assist with minor tax research.
- Provide administrative support to the tax department as needed.
- Associate's or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, OR
- 2+ years of relevant experience in accounting, tax preparation, tax administration,or an accounting/professional services environment.
- Prior tax preparation experience is preferred
- Experience with tax preparation or accounting software is preferred.
- CCH Pro System Axcess Tax experience is a plus, but training will be provided.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict tax deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working with financial and tax-related information.
- Ability to communicate professionally with internal teams, investors, and taxing authorities.
- Competitive fixed base salary of $55,000–$65,000/year, with growth potential.
