Required Skills
- Deep expertise in indirect tax
, with strong emphasis on Sales & Use Tax - Experience managing state tax compliance processes and working effectively with third-party tax preparers
- Ability to handle state tax notices, audits, and inquiries
, including documentation and responses - Strong tax research capability; comfortable interpreting and applying evolving state/local guidance
- Proven strength in reconciliations (tax-related balance sheet accounts), documentation, and audit-ready work papers
- Excellent communication skills and confidence supporting internal stakeholders with tax rate/taxability questions
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
- High ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality/data security
- Experience working in multi-entity, complex organizational structures
- Ability to adapt to and work across multiple ERPs/accounting systems
- Background in real property tax (industry experience)
- Big 4 and/or public accounting foundation paired with industry experience
- Demonstrated process improvement mindset (creative, “out-of-the-box” problem solving)
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field (preferred)
- CPA strongly preferred
- Master’s degree in Taxation (or similar) is a plus
- Prior experience in (or readiness for) a manager-level role; people leadership experience preferred
- Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite per week (flexible)
- Target compensation: $110,000–$125k (depending on years experience),
